OUR FIRST HYMN IS FOUND ON PAGE 2 OF OUR SONGBOOKS – “A WONDERFUL SAVIOR.”
a) We find some powerful words in the first line of this song.
b) A WONDERFUL savior is JESUS MY LORD.
2) Think about the word “wonderful.”
3) Jesus is called “wonderful.” Old Testament prophecy said the Lord would be “wonderful.”
4) Jesus would be called “wonderful” (Isa. 9:6).
a) In life there are many things that are not “wonderful.”
b) When we sing and when we think about the Christian faith, we have a “wonderful” savior.
5) Because we have a wonderful savior, we need to be willing to publically proclaim this fact.
a) Our mindset must be like what we find in 2 Cor. 4:13.
b) Paul said, “I believed, therefore did I speak.”
6) Having a “wonderful savior” is enough justification to behave in this way.
7) The opening words in this song give us a second reason to really sing.
8) Jesus is “Lord.”
a) Jesus is “Lord” in an individual sense as well as a universal sense.
b) Jesus is not only “Lord,” He is “Lord of Lords and “King of Kings” (Rev. 17:14).
9) Because of who Jesus is we are told to “confess Him before men” in Mt. 10:32.

16) This opportunity is so great that even something like rocks could break out in praise to God.
SKIPPING THE SECOND STANZA IN OUR HYMN WE COME OT THE THIRD LINE: WITH NUMBERLESS BLESSINGS EACH MOMENT HE CROWNS.
1) Jas. 1:17 says “every good gift” comes from God.
2) Eph. 1:3 says we have all spiritual blessings through Christ.
3) If we bear in mind what God has done for us, we will want to sing.
4) In 1 Cor. 14:15 Paul said “I will sing with the spirit.”
a) Paul meant “spirit” in the sense of his spirit – he was thinking about enthusiasm/passion.
5) Paul raised his voice to God and his example is one we are to imitate.
IN THE FINAL LINE WE READ ABOUT JESUS SECOND COMING.
a) When clothed in His brightness, transported I rise.
b) Many claim they are looking forward to heaven but this is not how they sing.
2) What will happen to those who refuse to praise God as they should in this life?
