1)    It is virtually impossible to go through life and not have a reputation.
a)    We can develop and have a reputation for being a person who is a true servant of God.
b)    A great example of this is found in the Old Testament – Dan. 6.
c)    Dan. 6:16 – READ
d)    A king said Daniel “served God continually.”
e)    Daniel’s reputation was go good this king said God would “deliver” him.
2)    Dan. 6 tells us that part of our reputation can involve the spiritual part of life.
3)    Dan. 6:5 –READ
4)    Those who knew Daniel or knew of him realized he had an excellent reputation.
5)    What our reputation in the area of spiritual things?
6)    Daniel was, even by our standards, in the latter part of his life (estimates are 80 years of age).
7)    Daniel began to build a good reputation in his youth and such is still the way to do this today.
8)    We can live a righteous life and be like Cornelius (Acts 10:22).
9)    We can seek to serve God, be like John the Baptist (Mk. 6).
10)    An unrighteous ruler concluded John was a “just/holy” man” and “heard him gladly” (Mk. 6:20).
11)    We can be like Dorcas (Acts 9); after her death people showed Peter some of the works she had done.

TIMOTHY CHOSE TO HAVE A GOOD REPUTATION (ACTS 16:1-2), BUT NOT EVERYONE MAKES THIS TYPE OF CHOICE.

1)    In life places and things like food develop reputations, and sometimes the reputations are bad.
