Paul said it this way, “all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose” (Rom. 8:28). God’s goodness is seen in that He “gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness” (Acts 14:17).
We also need to be thankful to God because “His mercy is everlasting.” God’s mercy worked together with His justice in sending Christ to the cross for us. “According to His abundant mercy, He hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead” (1 Peter 1:3). Each of us were lost in sin and still fall short of His glory (Rom. 3:23) but His mercy allowed us to be born again and become new (2 Cor. 5:17). In God’s mercy, He sent Jesus. In God’s mercy, He makes us alive again through baptism. In God’s mercy, He continues to provide forgiveness, benefits, and care.
