At this point we should remember that a good start to the day does not necessarily ensure a good finish. A principle that Christians should always be conscious of is serving others. Paul said to the Philippians, “count others more significant than yourselves” (Phil. 2:3). Each day presents numerous opportunities to be mindful of others. Some are so small that we give no thought to them, but perhaps we should, because others notice and appreciate it when we think of them. Those thoughtful words or even the simplest of deeds can be very meaningful to a coworker, someone we meet in the community, or a brother or sister in Christ.
