The Non-Biblical Argument against Homosexual Marriage

North Carolina put themselves on the map a few weeks ago when they voted to amend their state constitution to define marriage as between one man and one woman. To be honest, that’s like voting to define a triangle as an object with three sides. I would argue that marriage is defined by God and Him alone. Man did not originate marriage. In fact, look around you. Man is destroying marriage as fast as possible. There’s a reason why we call(ed?) it “holy” matrimony. God originated marriage and only God can define marriage.

The day after North Carolina became the 32nd state in the union to stick with God’s definition, I was listening to talk radio. It was station WHAS out of Louisville and Mandy Connell is the host. Connell is a libertarian; she thinks Christians are fanatical for wanting to outlaw not just homosexual marriages but homosexual civil unions as well, per the North Carolina amendment.

It was interesting to listen as callers called in to side with or argue against Connell. It was fascinating to hear Connell say that homosexual marriage was equivalent to the civil rights issue for blacks but deny that homosexual marriages would open the gate for bestiality and polygamy. She has it exactly backwards. Being a black is clearly genetic. It has long been proven that skin color is a result of melanin in our skin. But the homosexual community has failed over and over again to prove that homosexuality is genetic.

It is true, however, that once we decide that we can define marriage in any terms we desire, then there is nothing to stop someone from “marrying” his dog. There is nothing to stop someone from marrying multiple wives or multiple husbands. Once you leave what God has authorized, you open the flood gates to everything man can imagine.

A week later, I was listening to Mark Davis on talk radio – WLAP out of Lexington. He made a point that I have often made as well. The strongest non-biblical argument against homosexual marriages – and homosexual civil unions as well – is all those studies out there that show children grow up best who grow up with a father and a mother. And there is a host of such studies! Men contribute uniquely to a child’s well-being and women contribute uniquely.

The conclusion canadian generic cialis was based on few observations. The Constitution was written to create and defend American society. It appears that later this year, the Supreme Court will hear this very matter, probably as it relates specifically to the California anti-gay-marriage Proposition 8. Likely, the best we can hope for is for them to decide it is a states’ rights issue. If so, we’re likely to see more and more states revert to the conservative position.

But “society” is defined as “a group of persons regarded as forming a single community, esp. as forming a distinct social or economic class.” The family is the heart of the society. Homosexuals cannot create a family. It is biologically impossible. And, based on all the studies showing that children need a father and a mother, homosexuals cannot raise healthy families either.

One thing that was disappointing in listening to Mandy Connell’s callers was the number of people who called in to say, “I’m a Christian but I can’t judge people…” If they would read their Bibles, they would see that God has already judged homosexuals (Romans 1:26-27). That very text also says, “Though they know God’s decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them” (verse 32).

We dare not be more open minded than God!

By the way, homosexuality is not new to America. Read what our Founding Fathers felt about homosexuality at (http://www.apologeticspress.org/ APContent.aspx?category=7&article=1126.)
