BEFORE THE NOBLEMAN LEFT HE “CALLED TEN OF HIS SERVANTS” AND DISTRIBUTED A TOTAL OF “TEN POUNDS” TO THEM (VERSE 13).

6) After this first individual was evaluated attention was turned to another servant – verse 18.
a) This second man did not do as well as the first, but his work was still impressive.
b) He had received 4 months wages and he turned this amount of money into 20 months pay.
7) The nobleman could have said he was only going to reward the servant who accomplished the most.
8) This second man was appointed to govern “five cities.”
a) Being appointed over 5 cities would have been more than most people—especially servants—could imagine.

AS WE LOOK AT THE INFORMATION IN LUKE 19 WE FIND THAT SOME WILL STAND BEFORE GOD AND THEY BE TOLD GOD HAS NO REWARD FOR THEM.
1) This third and final man said he had kept the nobleman’s money safe –verse 20 – READ
2) As Jesus described this third man He commented on how slack and lazy this person had been.
3) In verse 23 Jesus said this third man could have at least put this money into bank to get some “interest.”

5) Imagine if this third man had tried to ask for another chance.
6) This man had to work while he had an opportunity.
7) Sa we look at this third man we need to think about our lives.
8) The information in Lk. 19 asks us what we are going to do with our talent.
9) Will we take the things at our disposal and use them for the Lord so we can be rewarded?
10) Or, will we be like the third man in Jesus’ teaching and try to hide our talent.
