We all need to have a role in the church to keep active and engaged. We care more about something when we have “skin in the game.” What do you contribute to the well being of this community of believers?
We all need to have a positive attitude about the work of the church and our role in it. If you are happy with your service to God, it rubs off on others. People will be more likely to come worship with you if they see that you are enthusiastic about being a member of the church of Christ. When visitors come with someone else but they see you smiling, welcoming them, singing with enthusiasm, following the preacher in your own Bible, taking notes, they are impressed with the level of Christianity they see around them. Then, they are likely to come back and visit again.

II. LOVE AS CHRIST LOVES:

We do not need to quit. You can’t quit being a Christian. You do not need to quit being member of the church of Christ. If things get hard, we need to put our noses to the grindstone and work harder. With God as our guide, we’ll get through hard times. We’ve got to be determined.
We’ll be recognizing the 50th anniversary of the Swartz Creek church of Christ this year. If we believe in what we are doing, in all the works of the church that is going on right now, then we also believe that it is worth it for the church to be here another 50 years. A supreme ministry is driven by determination to succeed.
You and I, as individuals, as individual families, need to be focused on what God put us here to do and when we do that, we’ll receive the crown of righteousness and we’ll have a long and fruitful life together.
