- First, a consideration of how the Holy Spirit is described
- In 1 Cor. 3:16, the Holy Spirit is called the “Spirit of God.”
- When we look at the Father and Son we find they are “eternal” (they have always been).
- In Heb. 9:14 the inspired writer speaks about the “eternal spirit.”
- The Father had no beginning and He will have no end; such is also true of the Son.
- The Bible says God is “light” and “in Him is no darkness.”
- The Father and the Son are perfect “truth” –with them we find NO error and no darkness.

In Jn. 16:13 the Holy Spirit is called “The Spirit of Truth.” - Most know Jesus provides man with grace. God the Father certainly offers grace to man.
- In Heb. 10:29 we read about the “spirit of grace.”
- The Father is described as having “glory.”
- Jesus showed a little bit of His “glory” when He was on a mountain and “transfigured.”
- Peter spoke about the “Spirit of glory” (1 Pet.4:14).
- One of the qualities possessed by the Father and Son (deity) is “life.”
- The Father is able to give “life” (both physically and spiritually).
- In Rom. 8:2 we have these words: “The Spirit of life.”
- Because the Holy Spirit is deity, He can be correctly described as a “Comforter” in Jn. 14:26 AND the “Spirit of promise” in Acts 1:4-5.
- Paul referred to Him as the “Spirit of adoption” in Rom. 8:15; the “Spirit of holiness” in Rom. 1:4.

- From Acts 8:29 we learn the Holy Spirit is able to “speak.”

- God’s word is able to “cut” and “cut deeply” as we see from verses like Acts 2:37 – “cut to the heart.”
- The Spirit speaks. The Holy Spirit loves (Rom. 15:30). He even “grieves (Eph. 4:30).
- He seeks to communicate to man throughout the Christian era by the word He has given.
THE HOLY SPIRIT IS GREAT – A MEMBER OF THE GODHEAD AS WE HAVE SEEN FROM THE VERSES GIVEN – AND HE IS ALSO VERY ACTIVE. PART OF HIS WORK INVOLVES THE SALVATION OF MANKIND.
