rothers and Sisters, Eden may be gone, but as long as our Savior reigns supreme, its hope lives on.

Take Back this Faith War

After admiring the beauty of the world that was formed from His breath, God decided to create one last thing—a sanctuary. His warrior king and queen needed a place from which to rule the earth. The Lord planted an orchard in a place of paradise, and crowned it with two trees of immense importance and beauty, the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. God made a place on earth suitable not only for His warrior kings, but Himself. In establishing Eden, the Lord brought man and woman to allow this orchard to be a place of communion. It did not take long for the forces of darkness to mount an attack on this stronghold of Eden, and soon the ancient serpent found his opportunity at the very heart of the fortress. It was at this epicenter of the garden that the serpent launched his assault on God’s capital on Earth and proceeded to topple it through the pride of Yahweh’s own appointed royalty.

Since this crucible moment, the world has been ground zero for a brutal cosmic conflict that encompasses the whole of humanity. Every day we see the forces of evil dueling with the forces of good, as millions of casualties are caught in the firefight. This is not anything new; we have seen it in our history for millennia. God shows us, through His word, that Satan’s armies have always been active in the happenings on earth, and we can rest assured that nothing will change. But God’s dream vision of a kingdom where His warrior kings and queens can rule in peace and communion with Him has not died, but rather is just delayed.

In Revelation 21, the Lord shows us that this kingdom is coming back to us, if we remain faithful and diligent. The biblical narrative begins with humanity and God existing together in a kingdom in paradise and the story ends with humanity and God existing together in a kingdom in paradise. It is one circle that starts at the Tree of Life and ends at the Tree of Life. But there is a lot of time and a lot of carnage that will take place until the cycle of Scripture reaches fulfillment. What we do with that time is going to make a huge impact on the kingdom to come.

You and I are a far cry from the perfect warrior king that God desired, but that does not mean that you and I cannot ever return to that mold. In Genesis 1:26, 28 the Lord defines what it means to be the Lord’s anointed royalty on earth. It means to “rule over” and “subdue” earth, fighting to take it back from the blood-soaked hands of that ancient serpent. We are called to work every day to liberate people or places from the tyranny of Satan and the violence of the cosmic war. But then He gives us an insight on how it is possible to accomplish such a monumental task—we are made in HIS IMAGE. Deep within each of us is the capability for the self-sacrificial love of God that makes up the essence of His nature and His power. He bestowed on us a weapon that can terrorize our ancient adversary, destroy the fortresses he sets up on earth, and even bring the spiritually dead back to life. He gave us the capacity to share, in small part, in the nature of GOD.

It is time that we as God’s warrior kings and queens, rise up and take back this faith war for the Kingdom of God. Let us wield the love given to us towards the forces of darkness so that we can begin to change this war zone. Brothers and Sisters, Eden may be gone, but as long as our Savior reigns supreme, its hope lives on.
