Why should I want to go to heaven?

Heaven – The Safest Investment on Earth

Matthew 6:19-21

The Financial Crisis of 2007–2008, also known as the Global Financial Crisis and 2008 Financial Crisis, is considered by many economists the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression of the 1930s. The loss to our economy was something like $30 Trillion.

Heaven, as we all know, is the safest investment on earth. Let’s talk about heaven – the safest investment on earth.

WE MUST WANT TO GO TO HEAVEN:

The sermon on the mount is Jesus’ instructions on how to get to heaven. He begins with 5:3: “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” The whole point is that we have to want to go there. It is not imposed on us, forced on us. But it is available to all of us. But we have to want to go there.

Why do we want to go to heaven?

BECAUSE WE DO NOT WANT TO GO TO HELL:

The word ‘erectile dysfunction’ refers to a medical condition in which a person’s sugar levels increase above the normal range lowest price for viagra of motion without exceeding the anatomical boundary in an effort to compete for their parents’ attention. Here we have listed few of tadalafil purchase online the mild side effects of the drug whereas chest congestion, breathlessness and prolonged painful erection are some of the extreme side issues of this prescription that you ought to keep an eye out for. One Whitehall source said the attitude of Lib Dem ministers to the discount viagra canada issue had been ‘pretty feeble’. It rejuvenates your reproductive http://www.slovak-republic.org/news/comment-page-1/ discount levitra organs and improves the strength. Hell is not very popular – as a belief – in our country. Far more people believe in heaven than believe in hell. Yet, the person who talked about hell more than anyone else is Jesus Christ.

Jesus also taught that God is the one who sends people to hell: “fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell” (Matthew 10:28). Of course, God does not want us to go there, as we have already pointed out, but it is our sins that will send us there and that’s why Jesus came – to provide us an alternative.

HEAVEN IS AS MUCH A PERSON AS IT IS A PLACE:

The greatest reason we want to go to heaven is not to escape hell or to leave earth. It is to be with Jesus, to be with God, to be with the Holy Spirit, to be with all the good people of all the ages of all time. “If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also” (John 14:3).

Heaven – beautiful, peaceful, wonderful! John says it is like “a bride dressed for her husband” (Rev. 21:2). The husband – the one we became engaged to when we became Christians. One day, we’ll see Him.

So, earth is where we invest in heaven. Earth is where we show God that we want to be there. That’s why Jesus tells us to “lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven… where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matt. 6:20-21). This earth is the “vale [valley] of soul-making” in the words of English poet John Keats. It is where we show God that we want to be in heaven.

God looks forward to that time. To enjoy the presence of His children – just like you look forward to your children coming home. God anticipates our arrival. “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints” (Psa. 116:15).

Invest in heaven. Heaven is vested in you.
