Why the World is Angry

  • The world today is angry for the same reason that Cain was angry in the beginning. You remember the story. Cain and Abel both offered worship unto God, but Cain’s worship was rejected because his worship was not as God desired. Since he was rejected, Cain rose up against his brother and murdered him.

What happens today when the world is judged because of her sins? What happens when someone stands up and says that homosexuality is sinful, or opposes gay marriage? What happens is an eruption of fury and a lashing out in anger. This happens because people do not like to feel rejected or guilty.

However, people standing up for righteousness is not the problem. Just like it was not Abel’s fault that Cain was angry. The problem is the turmoil and guilt that immoral and disobedient people bring upon themselves. Mankind was not made for unrighteousness. Immorality is not healthy physically, spiritually or psychologically. Immorality, by nature, causes turmoil. It even causes people to completely abandon good reasoning in order to justify their positions and conduct. While standing for the right may infuriate some people, they deserve to be warned because turning back to God and His way is the only hope they have.

We can only pray that the immoral of this world will come to understand what God said to Cain, “If you do well, will you not be accepted?” (Gen. 4:7).
